My Oscars

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Aww, Im so happy you rescued them. They are gorgeous. All of them. You really got lucky that they get along.

Very nice Oscars, their personalities are amazing and that alone are worth keeping these. My friend had one that he taught to roll over, "stand" on it's head. They're by far one of the smarter cichlids.

Say what? Really? Wauw!
I like that!
Im less interresting for my O's now theyre with four of them.

Mating for life my big mama, Solimojes, is torn between her albino with bad eyes,
and the new guy. I gave them two stones, on either side of the tank,
andf it works nice. At least until now.

Here some dusk pics. I live at the fourth floor, the sun shines horizontally into the tank:

It takes so long for him to grow his pelvic fins.

And the Heckelii plays Pegasus:

Wauw, no thats not good.
Scares the bejezus outa me those tendencies are worldwide.

To clear my soul, Im planning to build two 400g tanks, four big paludaria, and some smaller riparia.
All in my bedroom, which is now mostly storage of furniture from the livingroom.
But Im still too lazy gettin started.
I would like it for the fish to have bigger tanks, but the herps are still tiny
so I guess I still have this summer to smoke away.

Finally, after almost one year, the couple is spawning again!
These pics I took just a couple of minutes ago:

Here is the female on the right bussy laying her eggs:

I changed the lights and every 3 days did 50% water changes, nothing special.
This is the third time they spawned, see if it works for them this time.

Your fahaka would tear them apart you mean, yeah thats less fun.
I have four O's in that tank. One real young, only 4".
And severums, an adonis and some satanoperca and geophagus.
A nice community tank.
Hopefully with some new additions soon!
The stone is now covered with eggs. They never layed this many eggs.
