As far as I know what Pacu like to eat.... mine like to eat minnows. cheese, hotdog, carrots, banana, and his favorite..... Big and fat earthworms

believe it or not. he will eat a giant grass hopper too! Im scared of what he could get from the grass hoppers out side. the cricket's only get so big as adults.
awsome lookin pacu man great diet you have him on, try algea wafers most of them love those, mine did, and i know you understand what happens when they get spooked lol, you glass tank becomes a battering ram lol they start off so cute and small man till theyre monstrous
OH! yeah! my daughter spooked him one day. it sound like paint ball bouncing off the glass. bruised him a bit.....but he heals quickly....I keep plenty of salt in the tank. helps with his slime coat as well as his gills....
Yeah, once they get spooked.... they tend to splash large amount of water on you too as well. It already got me soaked several time until I got some thick sheet of glass to put on top. Now I can stay dry more often!
