thanks for the comments again every1

i have done a design for the lights in my head! lol
just making it now and basically the lights will be hung 200mm from the top of the tank on fluted cross braces and a square frame 150mm smaller then the inside measurement of the tank, sound confusing post pics in a min,

any suggestions?

if any1 in the uk is interested i might make more at a price though and it will be cheaper than an acrylic or glass version and can make pretty much anysize!
PM me!!!

finished the light fixture, looks ok have placed a light in place to show effect on the tank, there will be another on the opposite side,
its all got to be filled and a final sanding and then undercoated,

hows it looking now then? by the way the light cables will be clipped up to the bottom of the wood when the light frame is painted!

the side of the light frame nearest the wall will be hinged so it can be opened without falling on the floor! the wires of the light will go down opposite corners near the wall, when the top hinges open the light cables will get longer and not retract back under the stand where the starter unit will be housed so i will attach elastic cordto the cable and pin the elastic under tension so when the lid is raised and closed the cable will retract, cuz there is nothing worse than messy cables!

the exterior will be painted but not totally sure what colour, maybe cream and have some light oaky golden colours on certain aspects of the design, think i might fit blinds so when we watch a dvd or tv we can see the screen and not just glare of the lights!

i am planning the underside of the tank with air pumps etc and where all the gear will go,

for the filtration will be an fx5 for the mechanical and then i will attach a 105 to the return hose of the fx5 and fill the 105 with bio media for bio filtration and have also a eheim 2268 for mechanical and bio and also ammo remover etc etc,

going to make a corner of acrylic with large slots but not big enough for a ray to house the intake of the filter and heaters

it will be sweet when its done, going to get the acrylic ordered for the end of march and in as soon as i get it, will fill a few more small gaps tomoz had a day off today!

will start to prime the light holding frame tomoz and get the lights in position too, and will wire up the electrics under the tank, and make the hinge supports for the lid too,

but going to modify the fluted light corners too so they look a bit more space age might even paint them gunmetal grey!

still cant decide on the fish post pics if you have cool unusual fish rarer the better, as i wont be skimping and saving momey for the fish so as long as it fits in the tank when adult post it or leave a link

cheers
