This is interesting but I'm thick and don't understand it!!
What is it telling us? Don't use stainless steel in ray tanks??
I wanted to screw together some pieces of bog wood and was going to use long stainless steel screws but now I am worried about doing this.

It's basically saying he could have had a high nickel content or sulfur content in his water which I think falls under the tds

Your best bet is to stop playing g with your filter right now go back to what you had previous and leave it until your tank is stable. Ray tanks are not something to use for trial and error. I wonder is the mesh wasn't cleaned good enough.

I'm on half way already. So i think need to finish it.

But now for the mesh, its no problem anymore because im using nylon mesh not ss mesh anymore.
already trial the mesh for 1 day, rays look normal.
for the bolt and nut to tighten the mesh, i changing it with the nylon cable ties. so i dont used any metal anymore on my tank

finally mechanical filter is done,
fishs looks normal, water just light cloudy,

start to making new lighting, time to changing the existing PL lighting
checklist;
1. 3 x 110cm heatsink
2. star PCB
3. 3 x AC to DC driver 12x3w 600mA constant current
4. 3w x 20000k HPL (Still ordering)
5. 3w x full spectrum HPL (still ordering)

for the first trial, just setting 3 module x 36watt with 3 driver , 60-40% 20000k-full spectrum HPL

at vid begining,

trial 1 module 1:1 452-455nm hpl + 12000k hpl + full spectrum hpl,
not good, got disco effect..

2nd section vid, 100% 12000k hpl
at last vid comparison 12000k hpl with the old osram PLL 840

ray breathe heavily and not much moving, not take any risk, large wc and turn the UV on..

testing 3 fixture leds.

11 emitter on 1 fixture consists of;
3w x 12000k 8 emitter
3w x 3200k 3 emitter
driver 600mA 12 emitter max

trying this composition for 1 month, if not satisfied will change the emitter with 20000k + 4500k.
