My Scleropages leichardti

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Looking very nice indeed Tom , those scale patterns are awesome already at 9"

Thanks Danny. He is really developing into a nice looking fish. It has the whole tank virtually to it self. One ~12" BGK that stays in its tangle of driftwood an an 8"ish Senegal bicher that I think its starting to view as an oversized super worm.

I always thought my jardini would eat my bircher but he never touched it and I was one of the survivors, its currently 18" and bigger than this latest jar so its still safe :)
So you never know Tom you could get lucky with that one and end up with a big bircher and a big lei

Great Scleropages leichardti good luck growing him out to an adult. Thanks for posting.

Best Regards
Jeremy A. Rich

Update on this guy at 12" TL, starting to put on a little bulk now and filling out a bit. All he'll eat are superworms, earthworms and cut shrimp when it's in the mood. Doesn't touch the fatheads in the tank but will chase the SDs, and the bichir from time to time. Otherwise it's a pretty mellow and allows tank mates without too much aggression.

He's looking good Tom , have you tried him on muscles yet ? My jar loves them

No I haven't tried mussels yet. Do you buy frozen shelled mussels or do you get them whole/live and remove the meat?

I just either buy a bag of frozen shelled , or buy a bag of seafood mix frozen that's got muscles , prawn , and squid rings in it my jardini smashes the lot mate.
But the muscles once defrosted seem to give off a scent/oil that attracts the fish especially if you break it open a little

I just went to the store and bought some shrimp the only mussel they had frozen was cooked mussel meat. I bought it to try.

Lookin like a million bucks Tom! Get him onto Hikari pellets as a supplement and dubias as a treat.
