So what do I do?
Just put the drain hose somewhere (out the door downhill a little?) that's lower. I know everyone talks sumps all the time and this'll get me flogged but I've always considered them a pain in the butt lol I do enough water changes that I don't need the extra gallonage. Canister and HOB filters work great for me. But to each his own :-)

I know what you mean when you have to live by parents rules, me myself being 17, All I have now is a 55, 20, 10, and my birds cgaes and my snake cage, I could really stand for a 125, but my mom won't let me because I will be leaving for college, next year, but I hope to go local so I can commute and keep all my animals. I would hate to be in a dorm room without a fishtank filter going so I can fall asleep at night haha.

Yea, there is a 125 at my LFS that I always see :)
It teases me :irked:
YES! I have a HUGE room, so I share with my older brother. He always gets mad at me for the fish filters, telling me he can't get to sleep because of them. They actually help me get to sleep :D

Yea. I really want to go to college, but keep it not too far from home. I want to go to UC Davis, so I can come home for the weekends ;)

Hmm, out my door is just a hallway. But about a foot above the tank, theres a huge window and the screen pops out. Right below is the driveway so I might be able to empty it out there haha. But would that work?; it being from the floor, up 2-2.5 feet, then back down?

I don't know if the sypon would hold if it had to uphill 1st. That's a good question. Hey-another thing you might think of doing is putting the tank on cinder blocks. I hope Bderick67 doesn't mind me posting this picture, it's one he posted of his cinder block stand that I thought was an excellent idea. Because there's room underneath it for storage. You could put it 1, 2 or 3 blocks high. I had a 130 g on blocks for almost a year. It's super solid. Put a peice of plywood on top of the blocks and set the tank on that. Works great and it would solve your entire syphon problem.

Sick. That tank is gonna be sweet.

As far as it being on the floor, I think it's fine if you want it there except the siphoning part that is gonna be harder but not impossible.

Keep us updated and thanks for sharing.
