the bigger they are the better they are
wow.

Yes size does matter!! They are still pretty cool when fry but man are they the most graceful fish on earth when they stretch out a bit . This guy lull's me to sleep every night. Thanks for the comment bro!

Beautiful fish!

OP, the truth is, no one knows why they get DE. Nothing has been proven yet. So, you can just rest well knowing you're doing all you can for your Aro, and that he's healthy.

This thread is hilarious. I especially like the part about the aunt with the lazy eye. Because we should compare fish to people. "She found love, your fish will, too!" LOL good thread.

Ya that was funny. Yes he is king of the tank. He shares it with a Mono Pbass and Red tailed cat.

Ya know, I do feed it feeders once a week. the rest of the days freeze dried shrimp. And market shrimps like for salads. I 'll switch over to a strict diet excluding feeders then. I hate it cause it takes away from it ya know ?
Drop eye or no drop eye your aro is beautiful! Not sure if the live food thing could be the cause of drop eye, I doubt it very much tho. Regardless to me...your aro is perfect!

beautiful aro, looks like my female in jaw shape
every silver i have had has had DE in varying degrees
i do a sort of aro rescue and try to rehome them
the cause of DE is probably found in the differences between living in a river and living in a tank
so there is probably several factors that cause it in indivedual fish
none the less they are an awesome fish when they get big

So far that seems to be the most logical explanation. Really there are so many theories that almost sound true. But a genetic defect from being out of their natural realm makes sense.
