My Trimac, real / fake ?

How long you gonna keep him in there? Was thinking of doing that with one of my fish until he bulked up enough but afraid to stunt its growth.

It deff isn't wild or F1, but it has the right markings for a true 3spot,..
I would say it's more Trimac than Fh or Hybrid,..nice fish.

So you can tell how many generations removed from the wild a fish is just by looking at it? BS.

No one can tell genetics by looking at a fish, so it's never going to get resolved weather it's a flowerhorn or trimac. As long as you're not breeding it's not an issue though.

Well, thanxs for pointing that out:) I have F1 Trimac and this fish looks similar,..can i make a suggestion by what i have? Or do i guess because hybrids are apparently a touchy subject for you,..

I have pics of the wild pair mine came from as well,..
there are differences,..do you own an example?

also have no idea of its sex, anything that can determine the sex of the trimac other than venting? are males diffirent from females in any other way?

Females tend to have a black blotch in the dorsal fin. Not 100%, but pretty often.

An example of what?

You said that the fish in question was not wild or F1. There is absolutely no way to tell how many generations removed from the wild a fish is by looking at it.
