I have one of those for my 20 gallon fish tank :P I took it back and they replaced it.
 
That setup is impressive and the turtle looks great. Im more of a stock tank porson though. My snapping turtles would need a big aquarium that could be better utilized for big fish. :)

Gotta be careful with certain work lights though. I had one light on fire from continued use once. If you go that route make sure the light socket is made of ceramic and not plastic. Looks great though.

I have a desk clip light with a florescent bulb for my 55 gallon tank because I used the hoods for the turtle and bearded dragon tank. My basking lamps are reptile lamps.

Yeah for florescents it makes no difference. Like i said though it all looks really good.
