The zoo hired a company called "Theme Scapes". It's a local place. Somehow, the zoo was lead to believe they had lots of experience building zoo exhibits. Sadly (as we now know) they've never done a fish exhibit before this. Because the zoo managers were under the impression this company knew what they were doing, they looked at my advice like I was a kid off the street. (Of course at the time, having a new 26 year old come into a group of 'good old boys' probably lended itself to that impression.)
The crew I've got going on it now is another local contractor. However, the major change is I get to say what the process is now (more or less) and these guys are very willing to listen, and have open discussions about how to approach things and what to consider when working. It's coming a long way. This new crew is also removing some of the historic looking fish tanks from our aquatics building. The tanks are leaking plywood and glass units that were made about 20 years ago. They will be replaced with custom acrylic tanks (desinged by me) to house all of our African cichlids and the archers.
