if your running about 7.5 WPG then you can keep like corals like candy cane, frogspawn, brains, leathers and certain specis of zoas. Most mushrooms will like a bit of shade form the light, this will also cause them to open more, IE bigger! Lighting is tricky and more is not always better, but for certain corals your better off having more then you need. IMO i would remove the T5 and stick to the PC. This will reduce heat and allow easier access to the tank.

Ok I'll just stick to the PCs then. It's good to know I have a T-5 to use if needed.

So I have 7.2 watts per gallon, good enough I guess.

My mushrooms are on the bottom in some shade, I really don't want them to get big though.

most species don't get that large to begin with but you don't want to burn them with to strong of light. This will cause them to shrivel up so they don't get as much light.

thanks sweetang didnt know about the to much amound of light

No problem, These days a lot of corals are being fragmented anyways and it may or may not matter how much lighting the low light corals get. but in the reef corals live were theres perfect amount of light and current.

The lights he has on his tank are great for the corals i mentioned earlier but may be a bit to strong for some of the lower light corals.

very interesting
btw were do you get ur corals from i see ur in WI

there is a local store around here called Old Towne Pets. He is my source and he normaly gets good stock. He is actually pretty smart and i have never had a problem with any of his info or stock. Have you checked out my tank pics?? If not its down the page a bit, 65 gallon pics finaly is the title. There is a big leather tree that i got from chicago at old town aquarium. Great piece of coral for a great price. Other corals i get from Rochester MN, at a store called Exotic World of Fish. Another good privately owned store that has fair prices.

Just went and looked at them you have a nice took with a good coral solection. There is a good lfs by me that has like a 500 gallon tank and he thas good prices also i have to fix my light before i can get my corals
