That was a response to my question above it.

okstill my point is nobody is really getting hurt ,that doesnt deserve it .the student body at psu doesnt have the right to a top20 program , so nobody is getting "hurt"the entire athletic scholorship body (and walk ons)are free to transfer

That's what I didn't get. I was under the impression that the students were somehow being punished. I'm straight now. lol

nobody's getting hurt?? what happened to all those arguments that the schools get most of their funding thru "sports" programs (ie football)? Funding is going to get cut all over the academic programs... None of the students or athletes participated in anyway, I still don't agree with hurting their programs.

So what you can "transfer", think about it, all your friends are there, you're already accepted... now you're supposed to try and get into another school?

Punish the guilty individuals. Make the school pay-out to families/foundations, but leave the programs/student/athletes out of it.

thats true ,the football team funds atheletics but....any athelete can transfer..now ,ANYWHERE THEY WANT .this is the all-time mulligan (golf term)

Anywhere they want? They're automatically accepted to ANY school? BS don't believe it, they still have to get in, and they still have to decide if its worth choosing a different school than their friends/family...

Just not as simple as you want to make it

If the football players were forced to play out the year I'd maybe care but come on.....it's a tec school. You don't go to tec school for the athletic program except the football program. They're free to leave. What's the problem?

The problems IMO is punishing students that had nothing to do with it. Many students(80) will not get a scolarship they may have in the past, plus since the athletics can move they then displace students at that schools athletics program, further screwing other students. These sanctions are over reaching and overly harsh. I agree with the fine but the rest is junk.

yes ,anywhere they want ,that wants them.and for the quality athelete the list is long and for those that may not be able to transfer ,a chance to play 1st team rather than 2nd unit and no its not simple .but thers always SOME collatoral damage still it falls on jopa and his buddyiesdont blame the ncaa they just made sure sombody like sandusky has LESS CHANCE to fall through the cracks,so to speak, next time

Dose not seem fair to the students though.

incoming atheletes can get a schollie at a school that didnt cover up child rape we are talking 80 schollies in a sport that has 10s of thousands
