I have to be the devils advocate here. Those "fat guys" at the gym that are staring at you are working pretty hard I imagine to be "no so fat". And what is interesting is that when they get to their desired weight, you are going to be the one staring at them. And for the record, I'm not a "fat guy", but I probably will be in my older age. I just feel bad for someone who is trying to get fit and stay active so that people wont act like this. It's just as well though. I dont think your ego belongs in a gym where people go to try to feel better about themselves.
Why do you even want to work out? So people can see how much effort you put into making yourself look the way you want? That would be cool if you can decide who is aloud to look at you, and who is not. Or better yet. Go back to that gym and announce to everyone that you will now be picking and choosing who can view your magnificence.

awww have i touched a nerve there?! you really need to calm down. seems like you're highly strung. have a drink maybe?! lol

Well there ya go. More proof you shouldn't be at a gym. Your first word shows a complete lack of compassion for anyone who is not up to your standards. Let us know when you find that perfect oasis where only the "perfect" are allowed to view you. And yes you did touch a nerve. I have to live in a place where there are piles upon piles of people like you. Any idea how much a "pile" can start to stink once it sits around for a while?

firstly, i did not aim to offend anyone. secondly, if it did offend you then i apologise for that. thirdly that is why i started a thread and said i want some HOME gym equipment so please stop with your comments as i really don't see any point in them.

i never said i was perfect and that only perfect people are allowed to view me. seriously if you go through life getting this worked up over every little thing then it's obvious that you're going to be one very unhappy person. take a pinch of salt with everything...

Like i said in the beginning just get a bench

That can adjust both upward and downward
I work out every day and I keep in shape i know what im talking about

Lock your feet onto the little rubber handles down below, get maybe a 10 pound weight and do some sit ups

On the other side get some dumbbells maybe 10-15 pounds

You can work out your triceps, biceps and even forearms

On the bench (optinonal for your chest) you can do butterflies and regluar benching

Light weights will tone you and not make you buff, In order for you to buff out, you need years of bulking

Light weight and lots of repitition will help you

Im trying to figure out how you drew your conclusions. She mentioned guys staring at her. How is that her fault? Why should she tolerate or accept it? You act like its not the guys fault for being rude. Grow up. Im sensing alot of insecurity here. Her desire to seek self improvement or better health is not a bench mark of ego. Relax .

You can pick up a small home gym for a good price (usually) on Craigslist. Body Solid is a good company with quality home gyms. You could get something like this for several different exercises:

that's exactly what i meant, but i don't know what it's called over here?! so did you say its a "home gym"? hmm i live in london.. not sure what they call it over here... i think someone else mentioned a bench but there are soooo many benches out there and they all look different to me

Why so hung up on what it's called over there? Like they say a rose is a rose and so is a bench. Just do it Neer!:screwy:

I dont want to post anymore in this thread and this is all I will say in response. Read post #5 and think how you would feel if you were the guy "smiling" at her. You may be right though. She should not tolerate a smile from a fat guy.
