For low tech plants look into different types of Anubias, and you can also add Java Fern, Swords, mosses...

Also, yes amano will work better since they are less likely to be considered a snack to hungry little puffers...

And for diet, yes, blood worms will work...

Okay awesome, you've got so much great information. So would 3 be a better number? 1 male two females if possible?

Yeah well. It sorta has to go in there. I've ready usually 6in. He's in my 55 but I have to tear down the 55 and I can't bear to lose the L200. In the years I've had him he's grown maybe an inch. As long as he doesn't get picked on he should be fine. He mostly hides anyways(in one spot). So just to make sure. 1male 2f will give me best chance for survival for everything else right. Thanks again. I can finally start. so how does cycling a tank w plants work. Do I add them after its cycled or does it matter with them? Sorry I've never had puffers or a planted tank.
 
Oh didnt realize the size of the pleco was so large... I thought it might have been a smaller species...

In that case, arent you worried about waste in that tank with a pleco that size?

As for plants, anubis etc are quite hardy and will survive the cycle

I should also add Buce + Crypts might work although to be honest maybe more fragile compared to the others i recommneded

The pleco grows extremely slow. He's just over 3". He was 2" when I got him two years ago. My Lfs has one and they've had it forever and it's only 5in. Also I have to tear down the 55 because of space reasons. I really have no say in the matter. I'm 17 and live at home.

If his pleco is like mine, then it chases fish away from its food. No need to target feed then.
