NEVER BUY A RENA XP ANYTHING

Around.....
So today i notice the tank smells funny so i do a 50% water change and then test the water...Ammonia is way high....and my rena xp3 is half full of water....these are by FAR the WORST canisters i have ever seen....it clogs and gets messed up all the time... its sooo frustrating so detatched it cleaned it and spent another 10 min trying to get the syphon to go....by far worst investment i have ever made...will never be buying anything rena again...my ehiem is perfect and no problems at all and it has the self primer.

Thanks for listening to my frustration....i hope i dont lose my fish to this piece of junk!
 
I also dislike my two Rena xp3s. They came with my last aqaurium and can't wait to be rid of them! Doesn't help that they're ugly as sin.
 
yeah and maintenance is a total drag.... such a pain

I am also looking for a large canister. Would paypal you! Not much, but definitely a tip to take it off your hands...Nothing can be as bad as the marineland canisters. I simply refuse to believe that.

Sounds as if this one may have had a problem. I checked the troubleshooting area in the instruction manual. Came to the conclusion that the issue with this one had much to do with operator error.

I have seven XP3s all 3-4 years old, very few issues at all.
