New 1100 Gallon Indoor Pond!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They were just netted from the 240 into a waiting ice chest with about 6" of water not carried across my house in the nets, sorry I should have clarified. I don't think I can net the TSN though even to move it 2ft from the tank in the net because its to small and the TSN is to big.

just moved my fish to the pond. lol, lots of fun and lots of getting splashed. Moved my oscars, channel catfish, and tsn. They seem to approve of their new pond. The oscars are a little bit freaked out though. Might put some more cover in it to help them out.

looks nice

Have you thought about getting a replacement filter/pump for that 8400g pond/pool and then put in on the 1100 gallon pond. It would move a lot more water. Who knows might work and save some $$. Just a crazy thought I had...

Here are the first couple pics of my retrofit pond setup. Its just been set up for a couple of days and I have stocked a few sunfish and bluegills in there at the moment to cycle it.

Its currently running only a 500gph pump which is not nearly enough but will work while its cycling. I plan on running 2 Tetra 4000 model pressurized pond filters as well as a couple powerheads for extra current across the pond to move debris and also to keep the fish that want current happy. It's a 10ft diameter circle that has a water depth of 30".

I just started adding the sand in this afternoon and already put 200lbs in there regardless of what it might seem...so I need to get around 150lbs more sand to finish the job and some more mexican black rock to add decor as well as some large driftwood like I have in my 240 but most of that will have to wait until I get the filters setup. You can get the general idea though of the look I'm going for.

Pond residents after I have the good filters on there will be, my TSN 16", my Planiceps 14", and my Lima Shovelnose 12" for starters to clear space in the 240. Although the Juruense and Tigrinus catfish will be moved in there as they become to large to be comfortably housed in the 240 as well as my Cichla Mono's "Lake Diamante" and Irwini catfish. The only additions to what I already have planned to move in there are some flat relatives... probably a nice motoro to start with but eventually I'd like to have a pair of Tiger's and a Pearl to go with them.

Enjoy the first couple pics and stay tuned because after school gets out in a week or so I should have alot more time to tinker with the pond and or get back to work to improve the pond ~Trent

How many bulkheads does the pond come with? Did you make any of your own bulkheads? IS it possible to cut the liner without compromising its integrity?

I am actually looking to get one and have always thought that the INTEX brand was the best canidate for a fish pond.
