New 1100 Gallon Indoor Pond!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
hi there, i was looking at an intex pool where i work, garden centre / lfs, and i was wondering can you explain the filtration system in ther for me :) thankyou. also i havea pond section there, im open to the availability of pond pump filter. cheers.

Updated pics in a few minutes. Pond is heating up still, going to try to move my planiceps in there in a bit. The filter on the pond is a basic 500gph pump thats just to move current at the moment with a little mechanical filtration in it. The filter that comes with the pool just flat sucks. ~Trent

Well I got lazy :) Only the irwini is in the pond at the moment and I still have 50lbs of sand to add to it although I plan on buying 100lbs more sand in the near future. The water still isn't warm enough for me to want to move my other cat's and this late at night fighting them out of my 240 doesn't seem worth it. Tomorrow night or thursday night I will be moving the Planiceps and the TSN into the pond.

I'm still undecided if I want to move my big driftwoods from my 240...I need to find some XXL driftwood for sale elsewhere preferably...anyone have some for sale?

Some of the pics are questionable, sorry they were quick pics. Also a couple pics of the cichla temensis I'm growing out in another tank, any region ID on these guys yet? Thanks ~Trent

Nice. So any word on your improved filter? Do you have one yet lol? I dumped so much salt into mine it's crazy. You'd think it was saltwater. My wife looks at me like I am crazy everytime I put salt in the freshwater tanks. I am looking at adding my channels, and my oscars to mine on thursday or friday. Might even put the biggest tsn and rtc in there too, not sure yet, but I am quickly running out of tank space in the house. lol. So far just my knife is in there with a ropefish and lots of fat goldfish donated generously by people who are moving out of town lol. If they survive that's ok, but if not, oh well, more food for the catfish. I can't wait to get everyone in there

There isn't an improved filter yet...its in the works...I will post pics when its running but with as much water as I have and only a couple medium sized fish it will be fine for a couple weeks until the real filtration is on there.

After a few minutes here reading this thread we realized we should skip the large glass aquarium and put one of these Target beauties in our apartment. We indeed are in a basement apartment,no worries. Our electric bill is huge with over twenty tanks. My idea, get an indoor pond and combine all the fishes together, except my seven different piranhas i have of course.perhaps there is a smaller version of this pond?like 600 or 800 gallon?
