New 225 finished background paint

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thanks everyone, want it cycled too. need to work on returns still. just finished final coat on doors to be installed.

in post #32 there are pics of lighting i'm planning to use. coralife t5 normal output 30" dualstrip SW. was planning on using 2 of them. now since i wasn't able to get the other light for 35 anymore i was thinking of just getting 1 48" version. lowest i've found for another 30" was $45+shipping and for like $5-$8 more i can get a 48"+less shipping, some deal they have going on spend $50 or more save on shipping.

as far as tank goes, no plants or anything that needs super wattage lighting thats why i figure use t5 normal output. and chose coralife t5's because it's low profile, can't barely tell its on top of the tank.

i know i could just get another 30" and save a few but that means buying more bulbs when needed. and if i just get 1 48" then i just have to deal with the one fixture. not really a big deal but it's been confusing me :nilly:.
which would you do? and thanks in advance.

I was debating the same thing too when i get my tank. Not sure if i wanted 36" x 2 or a 48". Either way, i think im going with the 10k/colormax combo or 10k/6500.

finish plumbing last night and got tank finally running. all that's left is sand cleaning, other 30" t5 light, strainers for drain overflows and few other things, can't remember at the moment. i'm going to be cycling tank with feeders and squeezing some of my sponge filters from my garage set-up into tank, hopefully will seed faster.

this tank should be saltwater not freshwater.
other than that its flawlesss
just wanted to correct your mistake before you finished it

go with a metal stand

i would go with metal, maybe further down the road though. this stand is a little to tall for my taste.
