so i tested my water for fun on the 29th and results:
ammonia- 0.25
nitrite- 0
nitrate-0.5

figured the reason for nitrate reading and still ammonia reading was because of cleaning cycled sponge filters in my 225.

so did a little water change before going out today, well technically yesterday, just because crud at bottom of tank was bugging me, did less than 25%. so anyways got home an hour ago and tested water again. results were:
ammonia-0.25
nitrite-0.25
nitrate-0.5

i'm no expert but seems cycling is going great :D

looking good bro...everything comming together nicely man

Thanks bro, hope getting your tank is going good.

I have to be honest...I"m not a fan of the any tank edges sitting over the tank stand, as it could weaken the seals on the glass over time...what you can do is get a thin piece (1/2" or less) of plywood and cut it to the exact fit of the actual tank foot print, paint the edges black, and place this "table top" directly on top of the stand, and the aquarium right on top..that way the weight distribution is safely accounted for from a long term perspective.

But overall nice work, I like what you've done. :clap

i added about 1/4" wood to the sides of the stand, and actually only about 1/8" trim, not glass, was hanging over the original stand footprint. then centered the tank after adding the 1/4" to both sides.

thanks for the kind comments. now to finish/start cleaning black 3m colorquartz T-grade. it's going to take forever:nilly:

Haha....have fun with that. I was going to use tahitian moon sand for my tank so i bought 6 bags in advance. One of the bags accidently tore so i used some for my 10 gallon....just that little amount took forever. So i said screw it and returned the rest of the bags. Im just going to run pool filter sand which i heard is easier to wash. Either way its not going to be fun but its gonna be worth it.

thanks for the kind comments. i did a water test yesterday
ammonia- 0
nitrite- 0.25
nitrate- 0.5

haven't started cleaning sand yet but i should be getting my other light today with 2 other 10k bulbs
