My 8 feet tank was assembled here a week ago, the silicone was allowed to cure for a week. I'm currently filling it up with water. what would be the procedure for new tanks?
after rinsing can i use the tank immediately?

Its taking a while to fill up with water

nope you need to cycle your water look it up in the forums should have it up in a month or so

looks like a glass cages tank.

cycle the tan for a while before adding what you want

thanks :) my son is 5 years old now :)
The tank maker will still install acrylic strips for the tank.
I'm planning to just transfer the existing filter media and fish from my 120 gallon into this tank, skipping cycling .
was thinking if i have to wash the tank thoroughly first? or just rinse and remove wwater then add water to age. ?

I see you live in the Philippines, which means not only have you now got yourself a nice big tank, but access to nice fish for cheap too...What you planning on stocking it with?

Any way to answer your question, unless your actually using the old filters on the new tank, technically all you are doing is seeding your new filter using SOME of the old media from another filter??? so imo depending on stocking, and how much of the old media your using it may or may not be enough to support the stock...
