thanks
yup its kept outdoors. The tank is going to have 2 asian red arowanas, but they'll have an acrylic divider in between, btw shouldi be expecting an ammonia spike ? as i've skipped cycling the tank but i got 1 of the filters from my arowanas previous tank and added it to my sump.
Im not sure,as someone pointed out earlier you have the same amount of fish and bacteria, the only difference is you have all that in alot more water so it should be ok imo but i could be wrong.
thanks, this arowana was in a 120 gallon with another arwana and 10 pieces clown loach, the filter was the overhead filter i added on top of the sump and another one which is a canister, eheim 2250, i left the canister in the other tank. will try to get more media from my other tanks.
btw current powerhead is a rio 1700 which is rated at600 gal per liter , wpuld it be better to add another powerhead to make 2 powerheads for my return pu
p? or just chane the rio to 1 powerhead rated at about 1300 gal per hour?
up up, i tested the ammonia for the tank and it had 1 ppm, I got a sponge from my goldfish tank and squeezed it into my sumo, also dosed with some ammolock.
nitrite is 0, and ph at 7.5
i have not tested for nitrate yet. should i be expecting nitrite? or when seeding it can skip the nitrite and skip directly to nitrate?

I am suprised you have ammonia.Especially that high. I would run the sponge from your golfish tank in that tank if you can. You having ammonia and nitrite doesn't make sense to me. If you added the old media from your 120 to your sump, cycling should not be an issue. Did add water conditioner to the water before you started the filter,to take out chlorine?
