New 90 gallon tank stocking!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You could probably get away with doing that faster. If I need to make a temp change, I will just turn the heater right to that, probably not recommended but I’ve never had any fish show temp change problems. Same with if I accidentally fill a tank too hot or cold on w/c day.
I guess 2 degrees. Hes had quite a bit of stress today. I’ll just leave him be. He is great right now. He is hiding behind his favorite plant. he stuck his head under the sponge filter for a while. The tank is crystal clear. The Fx5 is so strong. I don't think Sparky was expecting that. He swam into the stream and almost got knocked against the glass. He never went into the stream again. the thing is, the filter outtake is right next to the HOB and sponge filter. there is an insane amount of flow in that corner of the tank.

So your bichir is not doing what it normally does with all that flow? Try pointing it towards the HOB, have it angled to hit the back and then bounce of the HOB side. You may need to add another 90 degree PVC and angle it up at a 45 degree angle as well. You might get less activity from the polli than is normal due to the current. My swims throughout the aquarium most of the day, but I don't have high flow like yours.

He's doing fine. It was just that one time. I think I'm going to get something to put in front of the HOB so that the flow doesn't disturb the whole tank. i think i will add another 90 degree angle to the output to put the flow against the HOB intake, or to be passed into the back of the tank.

My hornwort slows the flow near the hob. You could try that.
