Just a quick update.
Today marks Oliver’s one year anniversary! Can’t really say birthday since he was 2” when I got him. So crazy it’s been a year already! He has gone from the little 2” cutie in the top pic to the 8” (not counting trailer) beast in the bottom picture.

Niki_up Niki_up Thank you:)

Such a good effort and one of the best lookin specimens I’ve ever seen. What do you feed this beast and how often? Also how many water changes a week do you perform?

Thank you for the nice compliment:)
I’m probably one of the few here that don’t feed anything special or fancy to my fish. He eats tetra floating sticks (this is what he was raised up on) and I added the pellets a few months back when I still had a lot of fry to feed.
He also eats meal worms, freeze dried shrimp, algae wafers, and cucumber. These aren’t fed daily, but randomly. Some more often then others.
Oh, almost forgot snails. He really likes snails. And in the summer I might feed a worm or two when I have extra from the bait shop.
I feed the tank 3-4 small amounts almost daily. Now and then I skip a day. But then everyone gets really pissy. Lol

Water changes are every 3days.

And is the reasoning for that to speed up growing process? I’m currently doing 50% weekly and thought that was already a lot

When I first got him good steady growth was what I wanted. My female was a lot bigger then him so I needed him to put on size fast. Now it’s just to ensure I don’t run into health issues. Especially since I am overstocked right now. Between the 12”+ pleco and the two babies in with them I know that is a lot for the size tank they are in.
