New Asian Arowana

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Also yours looks like Metynnis maculatus, which doesn't get that big. The largest I've seen is only about 5 inches/14cm. You'll have better luck with the regular SD (Metynnis hypsauchen), Metynnis fasciatus or larger ones like red hooks or wide bars in my opinion.

Thinking of sacrificing my SDs to my predators. Ripped off all my plants in my 55g. Really liked my planted tank :wall::angryfire.Once they’re gone I can start my planted aquarium again.

It’s a learning experience. Learn from your mistakes. Now you know silver dollars eat plants. Now you know that species grows slow. Now you know you should buy sd’s big.

I suggest an egg crate divider. Then, once you find larger ones, buy them and remove the egg crate. Silver Dollars are great fish. Of course, they aren’t great for planted tanks.

Why would I need an egg crate to separate the silver dollars? Don’t really understand your point of view lol
