i think i am one of those peoples. but which parasite is it? there are 100000 parasite's that they can get.
what is the name of that medicine?

cheers

^^^ thanks for your honesty, that just backs up my point

go to your lfs and ask for worming medication SPECIFIC for fish with worms. my lfs can get hold of stuff 4 me, apparently (not sure myself) but the medication is linked to horse worm.
it needs to be specific for worms, not just general parasite and infestation medication.

dont get me wrong, this isnt some trick to make them grow super fast, but the last thing a rhom needs with its naturally slow growth rate is worm.

btw... just incase ur still not clear. every rhom in a home aquarium, unless treated for WORM has worm. thing is it doesnt harm the fish and you would never know he had them... but he has

Nice rhom and a bargain price to! Where are you in the UK? My tapwater is horrible in East Anglia. PH8 and way high nitrates.
What are you using to worm your rhom? In 4-5 years that will be 11-12" my friend. Diamonds are not like other big serras.

now you're trying to use the fact that one person hasn't treated for parasites as a blanket statement to prove your point. i talk to alot of people that own piranhas everyday on another forum and treating for parasites, especially with new fish, is an extremely common practice. so no, you are not the only person who has figured out that treating for parasites is good for fish health, which results in better growth rates, and by no means is this a new strategy for trying to grow rhoms to an enormous size. it's been done by many people, it will continue to be done by many people, and i don't think your fish will get bigger than 10 or 11 inches. it is also not a good idea to just dump meds in your tank on a regular basis unless the fish actually need them because even meds can be very stressful for fish, which would result in much slower growth.

SE London. water comes out the tap between 6-7ph, and nitrates are moderate. every water change i use aqua plus and cycle, just to boost the health of the aquarium anyway. why are diamonds not like other rhoms? colouration depends only on collection point ?yes?

Rhoms are prone to worm. stop talkin about treating for parasites etc... i dont treat for parasites my fish are healthy and so is my tank, always has been always will be. i used to keep multiple cichlids and never once had a sick fish. im talkin about a specific species of piranha that is prone to worm in an aquarium enviroment, so i will medicate him for worm every 4-6 months

wow, that's just amazing... worms are parasites, genius. i give up, this is obviously going nowhere and you refuse to budge on your position, so have fun in fantasy land and good luck with that rhom reaching 16" in 5 years.

good
bye bye
jump on my thread just to argue a point with me, not once did u even comment on the fish in question.
oh and sorry i didnt realise i had to spell everything out to you either. what i should have said was i dont treat for parasites in GENERAL, i have never needed too, i treat for specific ones, i dont even need to with this rhom, but i will to help his growth
