It looks pretty, but that's going to be a maintenance nightmare. If I were you, I'd leave a few of the larger river stones in the bottom, maybe, and remove the rest. Basically, do a slightly decorated bare-bottom tank.
 
yea i was about tosay that to, that gravel will be impossible to siphon dude, it couldnt of costed 350? you could probably go to home depot and buy sometihng similar for 1/7 of that

Exactly, I stopped buying gravel from LFS's, as a 25LB bag of sand is under 5.00 at HD an 25lb bags of pea gravel are bout the same.
 
lol i didnt pay 350

i paid 44 bucks for all the rocks.

man you guys are killing me....i asked the whole forum about this before i did it and no one answered lol. so i thought it was ok. damn. my wife aint gonna go for a substrate change yet. i cant afford the black sand right now. i just dont know what to do. i cant spend money till next month. ugh WTF. im so pissed now.
 
personally i would of just got PFS aka pool filter sand 50 pounds for like 6 bucks and you owuld of had alot extra too, STicky was even giving away free pool filter sand !
