the pattern looks male and also the slender body, females are a bit more rounded in the belly, could be wrong.

I am going to vote male.....I see some traits that are although not exculsive to male are generally more on males than on females in my observations...and also based on comparisons to my own... the head on this one has a more male pronounce steeper triangularshape....(look at this one from the beginning of its snout to where the dorsal fin starts and compare it to females)the pattern is still developing and looks like it is moving towards the more maze like lines and zig zag form that males have...also I notice this one has the little extention tips on his ventral fins which my male has but female does not.....time will tell...

I agree that the markings do look male, but look at that belly... from the pelvic fin to anal fin, I've never seen a male with a more rounded belly like that before. Gotta be female, post another pic in a month or so

She is nesting at the moment and wont even eat. Will she do this on and off as long as I have her? There is a male carpintis with her which is about 8cm could he be triggering this?

that's a female, besides the fin male will become more mosaic and loose the banding, like a male JD versus a female. pic of both my females.

this a wild caught, cal her Jag-U-R

and the other female she was a rescue jag,
