Starting this thread to record my experience with growing out a Bagarius rutilus (I believe) that I just picked up from a lfs that was labeled as B. yarrelli.
It was in the lfs for over a month. It seems extremely healthy, and is also already on pellets which is a huge plus. I will be quarantining it in a 40b for 3-4 weeks and then moving him into my 180gal. This is a picture of the goonch in the tank at my lfs right before they bagged him up for me. I picked the lighter colored one on the right, around 6-7" I'd say. I'm extremely excited to finally own this fish, already one of my favorite in my collection and he's still being drip acclimated!
