New Hoplias Aimara

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Fat boy/girl, don't have any idea of the sex of the Aimara yet. Eats anything meaty now. It got a fat belly from white market shrimp stuffed with Hikari Massivore/Carnivore Pellets. I just love how it interacts with me. Swims constantly when it sees me walk into the room, rubbing its bottom jaw on the glass. I like it more every day. IMAG0847.jpgIMAG0845.jpg

I put the ruler up to the glass on the bottom front right corner a few minutes ago. Just as I thought might happen, the Aimara swam all the way across the tank to investigate. When I bought it from Wes about a month ago it was exactly 6 & 7/8 inches long. Tonight I measured exactly 8 & 1/8". It's grown 1 & 1/4" in right at one month. A LOT fatter also. Probably about 20% more in diameter now. Awesome.

Awesome, more pics when you can, should try a grow out thread, i saw someone asking if they're allowed, they are right? I was thinking of trying one maybe do an update on the growth every month whether it be girth or length. It could help people I believe. Keep up the updates, great looking wolf. Lol you made me want a black arowana even more. but i cant house one at this point. One day.

It's REALLY nice to be able to take a picture of a fish while it's not moving. It either doesn't give a shizzle about the camera or it's just planning on how to kill me in the future if I give it half of a chance. It actually comes toward me when I get close. Absolutely a wonderful fish to take photos of , because it's not skittish or scared and trying to get away from me and hide ,like the majority of fish in general act. Just absolutely positively not afraid of anything , living or inanimate. A true badass.

Great, Wolves are quickly becoming my favorite as i keep them and read more about them. I love when they float, the way their fins move and they look so weightless. My favorite fish prior was marble gobies but I'm thinking i just liked the specific specimen i once had as this one isn't seeming to be as interesting. Idk if I'm gonna keep him at this point.

Lol, its funny how they try and blend in with their surroundings. Ours are from the same location and mine is jet black. The light colors around gives yours a nice pattern
