Update! It’s been 6 days since both fish arrived, I was slack on pictures the first day, I only had a video that I could take pictures of but here are some comparisons. Shipping went fast and smooth and both fish are very healthy, hopefully they will each color up quite a bit more. We’ll see

Btw if I may give ya some advice. I would recommend changing the color of the bottom of the tank. Light colors will make the fish pale out more to avoid being seen from above. If provided with a much darker colored bottom however, they will tend to color up a bit more. Just remember, just because they are a man made fish that doesn't mean that they don't still possess their natural instincts.

If ya don't have a way of making the bottom darker another idea ya could try is putting a dimmer light on the tank, this would also somewhat replicate the same effect just to a lesser degree. It's honestly amazing tho how just a change in background/bottom color or lighting can totally change how a cichlid looks.
