New little guy!

Hey everyone!

I recently purchased my favorite species of fish, polypterus senegalus, or the Senegal Bichir! He will be the star of my 90-gallon tank I’m setting up, which will be a kingdom for him at first because he is very little! I’ve decided to name the little guy Arsenio, and I am already in love with his cute little face! (He’s the normal)

I will post updates of him during my progress! He is currently being held for me by my LFS.

Went to visit my little Arsenio today!
He’s gotten bigger, and seems very happy swimming around! He was a little scared of the camera, but he was very curious after he got used to it!

Gotta love a good old Senegal Bichir. Mine saying hi ! Wish I could get a 3rd one that is not Albino but dont have the space or the spare growout tank...He would end up as food. Also thats a lot of snails wow.

I do love baby Sens. They're what got me in to this part of the hobby about 12 years ago. Good lord I'm getting old.

Arsenio will be my first monster fish! He'll be going in the 90-gallon I mentioned earlier with a Leopard Bush Fish and some Keyhole Cichlids!

Went back to visit today, he's a growing boy! Can't wait until my tank is cycled so he can have a home! got much better pictures of the little guy. His eyes are stunning!

while I do prefer Albinos over most other morphs due to the red eyes and all, I love the wonderful green colour ! How big is he as of now and how big was he when you first decided to get him ? Im trying to compare the growth rates of him to my albinos.

I’ve measured him by his head size! When I first purchased him, his head was a little smaller than that of a mystery snails shell, as seen in the first photo. But yesterday, his head was the size of the shell! He’s also gotten bulkier, and I believe a bit longer. I agree that he his beautiful! His eyes are so unique and I love his natural color.
