They have been in for a few weeks, but they just got shipped about 2 weeks ago. They were in his QT tank because I have NEVER owned a ray, and since he has experience with them, we talked about it, and I asked him about QTing them for me, and he said that he would.
I don't want to really go into details as about his qt- but let's just say it was a lot of misunderstandings, and a lot of yelling. It was way too small, and not enough filtration- so ammonia was well- through the roof!

There is a lot of "why didn't you do this.... " and I just don't want to get into that. We have come to an agreement, and all is settled now.
So, that's why they did not go into my 125 qt- I had also had to restart my 125 a month back because
I had seachem stability go bad on a cycled tank. I basically bought seachem stability for my 180, as I just got it set up. Well, reading the back, it stated it could be used on cycled tanks once water changes were done yadda yadda.
I added the proper dosage for my cycled gallonage, and it literally started the cycle all over. ALL of the fish in that tank ended up with ammonia burn literally over night, and did 3 50% water changes every day, and the ammonia was higher than the test kit goes. I had to take everything out, including the substrate, and start it all over again. It was cycled and ready to go, but I wasn't confident that it was ready for fish yet of this proportion. I was going to throw in my tin foils and work my way up.
But, with the ammonia spike they had to go in.. it was the only option.
So far I've been doing water changes of about 40 gallons a day, and all is good.
I threw in some earth worms- no luck. Which I don't get because my friend said he was eating black worms. The earth worms were crawling all over him, and he didn't care what so ever. And by luck they are small enough that I don't even have to cut them!
I offered to buy my friend a silver aro 12" in exchange for the ray, but he said no thanks. So, maybe a fruit basket will do? lol.
I'm gonna just not bother them and see what's going on with them maybe tomorrow evening. We are always in the fish room, so I am sure that doesn't help. I need to get a black sheet to cover them I think.
