Argulus is fish lice and is completely different from anchor worms. Which one exactly are you trying to treat?

I meant fish lice. Was reading about anchor worms earlier. Sorry for the confusion.

I just picked up my worms so im hoping he eats.

He was active this morning. Hoping he snagged a few guppies at least.

The worms should get him eating.
As I recall, these rays are really fresh imports. What does you friend have for a qt tank and what was the ammonia reading? You currently have the male in your 125 gal qt tank. Why didn't you put the rays in your tank? Just curious. I think they were really stressed from going from one tank to the next.
That was nice of your friend to offer one of his rays. How about some more pictures when they all get settled? Good luck with them.

They have been in for a few weeks, but they just got shipped about 2 weeks ago. They were in his QT tank because I have NEVER owned a ray, and since he has experience with them, we talked about it, and I asked him about QTing them for me, and he said that he would.

I don't want to really go into details as about his qt- but let's just say it was a lot of misunderstandings, and a lot of yelling. It was way too small, and not enough filtration- so ammonia was well- through the roof! :( There is a lot of "why didn't you do this.... " and I just don't want to get into that. We have come to an agreement, and all is settled now.

So, that's why they did not go into my 125 qt- I had also had to restart my 125 a month back because I had seachem stability go bad on a cycled tank. I basically bought seachem stability for my 180, as I just got it set up. Well, reading the back, it stated it could be used on cycled tanks once water changes were done yadda yadda. I added the proper dosage for my cycled gallonage, and it literally started the cycle all over. ALL of the fish in that tank ended up with ammonia burn literally over night, and did 3 50% water changes every day, and the ammonia was higher than the test kit goes. I had to take everything out, including the substrate, and start it all over again. It was cycled and ready to go, but I wasn't confident that it was ready for fish yet of this proportion. I was going to throw in my tin foils and work my way up.

But, with the ammonia spike they had to go in.. it was the only option.

So far I've been doing water changes of about 40 gallons a day, and all is good.

I threw in some earth worms- no luck. Which I don't get because my friend said he was eating black worms. The earth worms were crawling all over him, and he didn't care what so ever. And by luck they are small enough that I don't even have to cut them!

I offered to buy my friend a silver aro 12" in exchange for the ray, but he said no thanks. So, maybe a fruit basket will do? lol.

I'm gonna just not bother them and see what's going on with them maybe tomorrow evening. We are always in the fish room, so I am sure that doesn't help. I need to get a black sheet to cover them I think.

Sometimes it just takes a little patience. You seem like you are on the right track I hope he eats for you soon :)

I have a little jur cat that was a pain to get eating but once he started he is eating me out of house and home and has grown a solid 3 inches in a few months

I LOVE Jurs. I am growing up 3 right now, and they are pigs! Eating bloodworms, micro pellets, and beef heart. Sometimes Krill too.

I've been looking at indications of him being skinny, but he's got a pretty thick tail tube, and he doesn't have the indent in front of his eyes, which he had when we first put him in the tank.. He did eat 2 pieces of krill 2 days ago. So hopefully I can at least get him to eat every so often as a start.

Ok, so I did a second water change on the tank tonigt, and the male came alive! I threw in some worms, and he gobbled them up! I'm not so worried now. He was just munching away at them (the joy of having no substrate, and an open bottom stand).

The female kept pestering him, and she started biting his back near where his tail starts.

So they are divided and all is well. :)

Also, water is at 80 now.

Too many problems from the get go. Curious as to why you added the Seachem to a cycled tank?

I did not think it would be an issue. I had also just added a few unseeded filters to think tank, and I figured it would have helped them out.

But I also added it to 2 other tanks, and yeah.. the same thing happened with them.
