new motoros not eating & retic chasing them.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
keep trying with the worms.. they will eat them.. even try cutting them up at first. either in half or in thirds bepending on the size.. after a few weeks of them eating them cut up, then you can start dropping them in hole.

Got the divider up my retic is all over the place probably thinking what the hell is this and the motoros are just chilling under the sand. worms right next to them but they wont budge. I'm hoping to look over in an hour or two and see them gone

hmmm ... maybe they are stressed due to the retic..
if you cut them up, check before you go to bed and if they have not, take them out it guess. or leave over night.. if you didnt cut up, just leave over night and see.. they might be stressed. Ive never had any problems with worms.. hope it gets beter on your end.. keep us posted

by the way, what did you end up using for a divider?

i went to home depot and picked up the egg crate thing you told me about and its working out great, thanks. big piece was only $12 i just had to cut it to size.

i have another question if you dont mind....
do rays have a rib cage? if you look at my rays from the top it almost appears that they have a rib cage, right behind the eyes. i rarly notice it because they are always covered in sand.

thanks again and sorry fot the typos im on my itouch im not used to the keyboard haha

what he said, I guess. Im not sure of that question, but ok, learn something new every day.
Glad the divider worked out. To me that is the best thing to use. Works well, strong and plenty of water can still move thru it...

yea I don't notice the "rib cage" on my retic only the 2 new motoros. their eating worms though now so I should be fattening them up in the coming weeks trying to ween them on frozen food like bloodworms.

I JUST GAVE THEM SOME BLOODWORMS AND THEY ATE THEM!

I'm so happy right now haha. Thank you all for all the help. I really think seperating my motoros from my retic helped ease their stress and allow them to eat in peace. In like a week or so once they get themselves established eating and more active ill take out the divider
