New to lungfish need advice

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ill have the skimmer box for the overflow set as low as it will go and ill have 2 1"1/2 pipes siliconed threw the plexy for fresh air

About how much space will that leave between the lid & the top of the water? You should be good to go as long as there's a an inch or two of space.

Should be a little more than an inch. I ordered my overflow box when it comes I will def make shure there's more evince if I need to redo the plexy hood.

note my location...that were i hang...and in your words...NO ESCAPES....

i would leave a little more then an inch at the top. my lung always has at least 1" of its face out of the water when it breaths. i would recomend as close to 2" of gap as you can.

Will do, ill drop the skimmer box as low as it will go...should work to give him/her the breathing room if not ill redo the hood to make shure.

These are cool fish but I recently found mine a new home, They aren't kidding when they say don't put other fish in with them... Even if the other fish is too big to fit in their mouth...They still find away.. I had a 9" channel cat in with mine for awhile and all seemed fine until I forgot to feed him just once... Next day I found my channel cat eaten from the tail up all the way up to his fins, so the only thing left was his head and three spiked fins... They find away..lol But aside from having to keep them alone their pretty cool.

Nice pick up bro -;)

I just took him back because I like my endi and lap too much I traded for an arowana!
