It varies a bit from lungfish to lungfish. I would play it safe, though, and lower it a few inches.

Use sand and don't keep it with any tankmates as it will eat them or at least kill them.
This is good advice!!!! We had a lung fish a couple of years ago and he was super cool, but, we had him in with a juvie channel cat that was definitely too big for him to eat whole...so he bit the damn thing clear in half and just ate the back half. We got up one morning and found just the head and front half of the body floating arond the tank. Apparently he knows how to avoid the barbs...pretty gruesome. Really, really cool fish though!!!!! thats super cool how big do they get ?Hey all I just put a deposit down on a spotted lungfish. He's 12" ill be putting him in a 90gal with 2 big canister filters. What should I use sand or river rock or gravel what would bring his colors out more and what would be safer?here is the pic it is my fish but not my pic the pic belongs to scott at OSA
