New to lungfish need advice

they like shallow water. it may spen alot of time on the wood. mine would sit up in the roots of my pothoes to be closer to the surface. the shallowest tank i have had my sal(rip) in was a 55gal. even at 3". i have always had something for it to hang in at the surface.

I will get a nice log to suspend at the surface well 3"-4" from the surface.

This is good advice!!!! We had a lung fish a couple of years ago and he was super cool, but, we had him in with a juvie channel cat that was definitely too big for him to eat whole...so he bit the damn thing clear in half and just ate the back half. We got up one morning and found just the head and front half of the body floating arond the tank. Apparently he knows how to avoid the barbs...pretty gruesome. Really, really cool fish though!!!!! Good luck with him!!!! :)

Well my dudes here.. and he is awesome! Also he has no issues swimming slowly to the surface and staying there for a few sec before commingle back down...

Well my lf is doing good. Been a few days he/she eats 1 med gold fish a day yes gold fish they didn't have any minows. I bought a dozen friday. When there gone ,straight pellits shrimp and such. No more feeders. Just wanted to get it eating first.

After these 8 that are left all frozen and dethoughed and pellits and worms. No more live.... this am it ate carnivore pellits I was happy about that.
