Welcome, and what is a tat?

<-------- :D

He should be ok with a tat or a dat. Tats have very specific requirements. Do you know about them? Dats are a little sturdier, but please specify which you mean.

im talking about tats and yea from what i have found it seems then are very hard to care for but any information on tats and if it can be housed with a black arowana thanks

I have a black aro and 3 tats, but the aro is in a different tank. Judging by their personalities, I would say they should be fine together, as long as either doesn't fit in the other's mouth. There is a ton of info in the "other characins" forum. For starters, lots of current, lots of o2, best in higher temps (mid 80's), and low nitrates. Do some reading, though. Any questions after that, feel free to ask.

haha yea im alrdy looking for a new tank hes a little sucker though prob bout 3-4 inches so i think i got some time right. thanks for all the info one more thing though does anyone know if he can live with a tat about the same size or will they fight?

Welcome to MFK. Do you know what you're getting into with an Arowana? I hope the tank you're looking for is like 300+ gallons. If you're not willing or able to do so, I'd recommend selling the little fellow for something you can house properly. If so, they're awesomely incredible animals.
