New used tank! Vol. III

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Lol.

In all seriousness, a growout tank is not advisable. It is much better to wait until you actually have the appropriate sized tank, and THEN get the big fish, because no matter how much you might intend to get the bigger tank, life can so easily get in the way.

Nah man, YOLO. I'll get that 50 acre pond built. I'm fixing to win the powerball soon. I was only 5 numbers off last time.

Besides, aren't you keeping clown loaches in some tiny little tank? Everyone knows clown loaches can reach 6' long if kept healthy to their full natural lifespan of 250+ years.

He's got you there, MTS!

I know it'll take a few minutes to do the conversion so you'll be able to visualize what he's talking about...but he's got you...:)

How long is a metric year, anyways? 100 days?

I love the way that pond doubled in size in less than an hour between posts...:)

If doing imperial loaches, I would stick to a smaller species like Leptobotia pellegrini or Leptobotia taeniops. Leptobotia elongata can get to 50-76cm, too large for a 2.13m x 61cm footprint

Nothing in life is guaranteed… only death ? ?? ?

But it's highly probable they'd reach that size given appropriate care. And to account for that probablility, an appropriate sized tank will be needed.

That's the equivalent of saying you can keep a red tail catfish in a goldfish bowl because the only thing guaranteed about it is its death.

JJ, with all due respect, I found that your statement of being 'got' was not something I wanted to read. There's nothing to 'get' me for, even if it is meant to be a joke.
I'm not finding it funny anymore, so I would much appreciate if we could cut it off.

Editing timed out. I was going to add that me and Wednesday have discussed this quite a few times on other threads already, so maybe not the best idea to clog this thread up with this subject - just wanted to add my 2 cents without clogging up the thread with that subject, regardless of what Wednesday replies with.

I see. Not sure what I'd say to that, but I don't think I disagree with it.

Well, no offence was intended; if such was taken, I apologize. I can't guarantee that it won't happen again, because honestly I'm not quite certain how it happened this time. Perhaps someone could explain? I assume that it is either my playful disdain for the metric system, or the fact that you were "called" on the fact that you regularly chastise those who keep fish in tanks you deem too small...but you have some assemblage of clown loaches in a tank that seems on the small side for them when they eventually grow up.

Either way, I will attempt not to repeat...whatever it was...

In terms of social prosperity and quality of life, I like to think of my fishroom as the middle east. Perpetual conflict, famine and drought, and authoritarian despots trading control over tanks are commonplace themes.

Hmmm...sounds a bit like Canada, to me...the "authoritarian despots" part really hits home.:)
