New Whiptail

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thx Justin! I have read that males occasionally shed their bristles making it more difficult to sex? So far I'm not 100% sure about any of mine but I'm guessing they are not old enough to sex anyway.

Rineloricaria sp. L10 There is also a red variety. I have one. the red one is L10a Red lizard whiptail. http://www.scotcat.com/loricarcommon.htm This is the best place for pleco ID. I love this site. As for the sex. If it has tiny hairs or bristles (body odontodes) all over its body and fins it is a male. If it has not hairs it is a female.
yup its often thought as Loricaria lata but does not have the feathered suckermouth. this is prob. the most common form of whiptail

I would like to have every whiptail there is! My next venture would likely be something in the sturisoma dept. I LOVE that curve at the top of the dorsal. I have an empty 20L laying around and plan on using it to breed my existing whiptails. That would be even more awsome than getting different ones for now, atleast in my whiptail baked mind:D

Have you ever thought of breeding L200s? That would be awsomeness to the 10th power:headbang2

I actually have been planning to for quite a while. I may also setup 2 more tanks. One for L239 and one for L264. I have a pair of both those species.
