You'll have to excuse my disorganised stack of DVD's and Xbox Games but it gives an idea of scale. I'll upload better pcis this evening.

Whilst I was collecting the big fella, i managed to snap a few more shots of the other wolves. To be honest, it looks like three different species rather than three of the same;

Unfortunately i couldn't get any under jaw shots but the markings on the two lighter ones are completely different, and the darker one has a much broader, shorter snout compared to the other two. I have more pics if needs be..!

I think the differences in color has to do with the larger wolf being dominant. The differences in snout, etc. is either because the larger wolf is closer to being an adult (while the others are sub adults) or differences in sex or both. I doubt they're different species.

P.S. Your black wolf is awesome. He's a beast.

Liam I am very interested in how the Tat and wolf get on. I have two Tats would love to put them in my 8'.

KRSwop1. This will possibly be my third curupira. I am going to try and cohab them in my 8'. It's an interesting point made about the colour. Liams is very Black and was so even when alone before it was picked up. I have one of a similar size that is much pailer in colour. I wonder is it is a sexual difference or a regional difference.

Well i am happy with all this talk about my fish lol, i would just like to say that the 2 smaller ones are for sale if anybody is interested please drop me a PM.

Liam took some great pictures of them (light permitting) but i think the pics he got are great, in the time he was here they changed colour atleast twice lol..

If liam did not live so far away i would get him to take some pictures for me of some other fish i have, i have been trying to buy a decent SLR to take pics but the prices are way so high Doh...

anyway i am happy they have gone to 2 great homes where i know they will be looked after to there best, thanks guys....

oh by the way people, i have 2 AIMARA coming next week if anyone is interested call me......

I guess it depends how big your Tat's are compared to your black. Mine is a good 10" and is very aware of the Wolf's location- they rarely see eachother in the tank and when they do, the Tat moves away.

It is, however, very early. I wil be in a better position to say in a week or so. I'm still dubious about the survival on the Geophagus- they are getting a bit... suicidal with their tendancy to mill about right in front of the wolf...

I did get one fairly good pic of the Crenicichla;

And heres a few more of the Wolves;

You can see the different Jaw shapes of the two smaller ones quite well here- there is only a couple of inches difference between them
