Newbie Nano Planted help!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
in a nano WPG rule does not apply. HC isnt going yo carpet if u can get it to survive. stick to easy plants that require LOW light. anubias ferns maybe crypts and possibly frogsbit if u want floating. other than that go all out high tech if u want HC to thrive or hc will grow under that light with good soil and NO water just high humidity and damp soil

Well he never mentioned wanting HC, so lets just suggest low light plants. Many of the micro anubias species, java fern (I like trident), java moss on drift wood, micro sword, a Crypt or two Along the back ground. You'll want good soil, but all those plants will grow with two of those bulbs you have, granted they are not over 6 months old.

I have a brand new 60w bulb too didn't suggest it because I thought it would be overkill

my bad read fast on my phone saw hg and thought said hc. i tried and failed to ever get hc to take in a nano after going to 13w on 2.3g and still wasnt enough

for HC ull really need pressurized co2, good dosing and strong light. add 60w to a nano without co2 and enjoy green water for a day and algea forever after that. i think u were on the right path, before i derailed about HC. really stick to 2 of the lights u started with a d diy co2 and theres a lot of easy species that will thrive. many are water column feeders that would benefit from being attached to driftwood like anubias and ferns.
