Wii is fun, but does get old. Wii is more of a party console where a novice gamer or someone who doesn't play much games will usually enjoy a Wii game. The ONLY good game on the Wii that I have played that has much of a replayability has been the Wii sports game that comes with the console. I have a few friends that don't own any game besides Wii sports and really don't plan on buying any other games. Graphics wise, I have yet to see a game on the Wii that is comparable to the 360 or even the PS3.

Just for party games? Well you do have Smash Bros and Guitar Hero and Wii Sports, yeah. But some of the games are very in-depth. Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, and Metroid Prime 3 all have graphics that I think rival that of the other 2, and have a very very long life. Zelda was reputed to last about 100 hours with side quests. And Guitar Hero can beat just about anything in replayability, even after you beat it. Althought that is on all systems right now.

Well... Im going to break it down like I see it.

PS3. Best for RPG's... Now I know thats only one genra of games... but for those who play RPG's, it's the most important one... Final Fantasy will be on Playstation, along with many MANY other titles that im looking forward too... So this is my personal choice. Also some nice hardware and I prefer the Playstation graphics myself.

Xbox. Best console for fun with your friends, hand down... I love the PS3 for myself, but with friends Xbox is more fun, and has better games for it.

Wii. So far, just looks like a gimmick... Im very, very tired of Nintendo, their games are stale, and almost all feature Mario and im very sick of that guy... But I will say this.. If they make Resident Evil games for Wii, either continuing the series there OR just releasing Wii versions. I'll get a Wii.

So what do you like ? Lush Fantasy words with nice hardware and a blue ray player (Though blue ray is dying) (Playstation)

Fun with friends ? (Xbox)

A totally new concept, nearly futuristic ? (Wii)

Up to you.

Live is working fine for me, Xbox all the way.

The graphics on the PS3 are no better then 360, if anything on multiplatform games (oblivion for example) they are worse. PS3 online, although free (I think) is crap with minimal games online where as Xbox live cost what $60 a year but every xbox 360 game MUST have online features.
The Wii is cheap in all sense of the word, cheap to buy and cheap in general, but they are fun. I am all about fun when playing games and graphics don't mean much to me, but I still wont something that looks decent. But the Wii, for me, just isn't fun enough to warrent the horrible Game Cube graphics. Don't get me wrong you do get stand out games of very high standards (graphic wise) but its just not enough for me. When Super Smash Bro's Brawl/Dojo comes out I may be swayed but until then I'll go along happily with my xbox.

PS3

Can't wait for Gran Tourismo.

unless you have an inside scoop on getting a Wii, that's basically out the question at this time of yr.

1st question is do you have a HDTV?
2nd would be are you willing to pay to play online (360 is $50/yr)?
and 3rd, what games ya like, if FPS (and willing to pay for online) 360 is a no brainer?

Since your PS2 still works get the 40gb PS3 for $399. It still has wi-fi, internet, blu-ray (if you have a hd set) and 3-4 good games to hold ya 'til whatever you like comes out next. Also the PS3's hdd can easily be upgraded and easier to use external drives.

I agree that Wii's are basically impossible to get this time of year, i waited in line today for kmarts thanksgiving sale, and was there at 4 am, they opened at 7 and was one of the last people to get one.
Ive played all three systems and what I think is this:
Wii- It's fun to play with groups of people. As far as content goes for other games, I dont know yet, Ive only played sports and guitar hero.
Xbox 360- most my serious gamer friends have this, and after playing it I understand why. Also at my age (19) xbox 360 seems to have more of a lineup of games I like, and good online play brings a whole new element to the systems, and i think the 360 does that best
PS3- pretty expensive, the selection of games is allright, but I wasnt impressed with online features compared to the xbox360, which is what I like to do mainly when playing a system.
Overall i would have to say if your going for good online play and play alot the 360, but if you only play games every so often out of boredom or with a group of friends the Wii.

wii-i would get this system to play mario parties, smah bros.they cant get out played ever to me.cheapest console.

360-good titles are out.live is a great feature.good amount of storage space.

ps3-wait for higher profile gmes to come out first.good amount of stoage.free online.

since i already have a 360.i would get a wii next for those reasons.
