Can you do any sort of online gaming on the Wii? I have the Wii, but I don't have a wireless router so I'm going to get the LAN adapter...mainly so I can download old Nintendo games, but I was wondering what capabilities the Wii has online.

Yes, you can do some online gaming with the Wii. There are not much for online games however. I think the first being Pokemon Revolution, which I might add is a pretty fun game. I'm not quite sure of any other online, maybe Guitar Hero 3 is online ready? I find that online play with the Wii is kinda laggy.
Theres Pokemon and Guitar Hero so far. Coming to online play is Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, and... I just woke up, I cant think of the rest... zzzz
Oh, and theres the whole Mii thing, which is actually really fun. My friend made a big collection of his friends and celebreties. The loconorc Mii is right next to the Chuck Norris

I just plugged my Wii back in after not having it hooked up for awhile and got a ton of updates. I just downloaded the Mii thing. Its ok I found a couple ok looking ones.
If you have a group of friends over, the Mii creation is a blast. Making each other and arguing over eyebrow size is so much fun LOL
The other Wii channels are kinda cool too. I cant wait to try out virtual console though! Im probably gonna spend about 100 bucks on it right off the bat!

Mii creation is ok. I have spent a lot on the virtual console games, probably more than I should.
I'll admit right now the PS3 doesn't have much out... But I wouldn't buy it for the games it has, id buy it for future releases.
I'll buy any system Final Fantasy is on, no matter what. Same goes for Resident Evil.
I really wish that Nintendo would release some real games... not just some lame party gimmick... And I really would enjoy xbox more if they had games that weren't made popular via online play... I have a computer to play with others, Xbox therefor does nothing I cant get other ways. All it has is Halo.... thats it, the entire system rests on one game (for me) Yes, I've played assassins creed... Very unimpressed.
So for me, I suppose the PS3 is the lesser of all evils, although im disappointed with all 3 systems.
I think the Xbox is lowest on my list, however. Nothing I was interested in came out in the first one, and that doesn't leave much promise for the second.
I guess... Unless you're a Diehard halo fan, there is no reason to get ANY system, because the only interesting game out atm for all 3 systems would be Halo 3.
