Federally you have to be 21 to buy a handgun from an FFL dealer. Check your state regs but you can probably buy one from an individual at 18.

Check your laws and go to a gun show. Around here though if you look, act, dress, or smell like trouble no one will sell you anything even if it is legal.

I never knew that, see " I have " a Colt Gold Cup .45 that is my dad's, but when I turn 21 it is suppose to be mine hopefully. He has been holding out till I turn 21, could we write a bill of sale if the laws allow it and it be in my possession now?

I do not understand the ban the tool mentality.. What does this accomplish?? The tool is not the problem the people are..

If it is not knives soon it will be bats.. then your going to ban publicly carrying bats then it will be sticks.. Then your going to ban picking up sticks in public.. Where does it end? What is this doing to modify the real problem.. Destructive Human Behavior, gutter culture and a lack of responsibility for actions...

Exactly where i stand... All the out right ban and high sentencing has achieved is pushing the price of illeagal guns down to the point of pocket money prices... and the number of illeagal guns available has managed to increase steadily through out so what good is it really doing? how many documented accounts can u find of legal guns being used in crime in the uk in the last ten years? its stupid... and as for only police and military being aloud to poseess guns.... lol when peole say illeagl guns come from the goverment in the uk what u think they mean.... its so messed u and so interwinding that really im not sure there is a solution.... taking guns away from sensible responsilble people is just nutts though.... its having no effect and it was never justified.

just bugs me.... with the exception of any swat, military or pmc personal on here im probably one of the most experienced people on here when it comes to fighting in a modern fibua/cqb enviroment, i have enough experiance and the great privalage of being part of a group that have been given the opertunity to train with the royal marines and play as there opistion in training simualations in just these enviroments. add to that im a complete gun nutt and know a fair bit, i dont see why i should get dogged...

I hope you'll be emptying your kitchen of knives when the ban comes, and you can fillet your fish with a fork, cause you know what most people in the UK are stabbed with kitchen knives. Its illegal to stab someone in the UK. You can get 25yrs for it, but has that stopped people stabbing each other? So do you think some poxy little slap on the wrists is gonna put them off? The real problem is the law siding with the criminals, jailing people who dare to fight back.

My mate doesnt smoke or drink just got jumped by three druggies. Unknown to them hes an MMA superstar. They threated to stab him, he put them all in hospital. He got 8 months in the slammer! For being to hard on them! b Truth about this country is violent aggressive gobs*** pays. Change the culture, let us fight back and you wont need anymore half arsed laws.

Sorry for hijacking your thread. I get very fustrated at the way things are going here. Foxhunting Banned, hare coursing banned, Real Action Paintball banned, Handguns banned, knives over 3" banned, knives under 3" being banned being, Airsoft guns being banned, air rifles being banned,...

And soooo many clueless people here support the bans...why would you want one if you dont want to shoot someone? I find that insulting. If you dont like guns, why come on a gun thread. You think commiefornie is fustrating! I'll shut up now.

I use to live in Bowie MD, back when it was still a swamp, Glad to see the DC handgun ban got rolled back.

This is what I'm saving up for Anschutz 2013...what it lacks in punch it makes up for in accuracy! I'll take the dot out the i in pepsi at 50yrds... Could take a while to set up though!

I come from a hunting and shooting background.. In that and in my training Crappy is never applied to a given firearms anatomy.. Only to the person using it for not using it right. It is insulting to some to call iron sights crappy or to disregard them. I'm one that takes offense quickly on this.. I assume (often wrongly and will admit that) that those who would call open iron sights crappy likely have little disciplined training or experience with this aspect of shooting. If you are disciplined in the art of shooting you never refer to iron sights as crappy.. You behold them and master them but never condemn them.

Might not realize it but this is a touchy subject to some very experienced shooters. We do not take this very lightly and will go off quickly about it.

ok... now I vaguely see what you took offense to it. Lol, I actually prefer Iron sights then scopes, they're funner to use and harder to use. but I still stand strong with my judgment that they look crappy (well some do)

Erm.. Airsoft is not really very applicable to the real world application an actual firearm is. I have said it before and will say again that these "guns" have a very valid use. I have one that I use to let people familiarize themselves with the SVD sighting system before I let them touch my real one. I also have another (AK) that is used for training in handling and fast target acquisition. However the one thing it seems to fail in is the critical aspect of Firearm discipline and control. These Airsoft matches (I have taken part in a few as OPfor during a couple SWAT sessions.. and creamed them ) are a free for all where on can easily see a wide variety of very bad practices being made into "technique".. These are not firearms and should not be taken as such.. I'm personally not dogging you on this but there is a very very big difference in how you react and function in a live fire exercise or operation and one in which is training with little plastic pellets.
