I can not say it does. cichlids live to eat, stake territory and breed. the nesting is instinctual wither a mate present or not.

vids about a year old, males put another inch or so on as has the female.

I have had Oscars, JD, Jags bite rocks just to bite the rock. biggest give away is the sweeping, they will belly up to the rock and sweep it. thats a dead give away.
