Hello; It may be that the idea of snow is much nicer than actually living with it over time. It is only beautiful for a short while when it first snows and a little while after. Soon the stuff is a dirty slushy mix anywhere we drive. Lots of damage to cars and trucks from both collisions and rust.
If the power goes out in a snow storm it can take much longer for crews to get around to fix it.

A couple of winters or so ago my area had unusually deep snows. Many roofs collapsed.

Might be more fun to take a snow vacation every now and then. Go play in the snow somewhere and then escape back to the warmth. Warm and hot weather is much easier to deal with than cold and snow.

my thoughts on upstate NY is probably excessive. But im 99% sure id love to live with a snowy winter.
In hot weather, there is only so much clothing you can take off before you go to jail. Now, I would mind somewhere that gets hot, but is a dry heat. I had looking into Arizona a bit also, along with Colorado, a tad in NM

Exactly my plans, too. What kind of time frame are you looking at? I ideally want to move directly after college but it's possible I'll have to stay here for a few years to acquire some savings :(
I'm thinking post retirement which is about ten years or so.

NC is beautiful, but from my bit of research, they tend to have more dreary days than other places. so not as much sunshine. Florida is miserable with the heat and humidity, dont come down here. I was born and raise here and hate it.

Lmaoo ok will only come to visit

De is actually horrible with humidity as well. Summer here was worse than ny but it does habe a longer mild period before it gets too hot/cold. The wind is a killer though. Nice in the summer but brutal right now i wasnt aware how flat and coastal areas are so windy

I had to step out for a minute. The sun was really bright and it was starting to dry up. When I got back it was cloudy and look like there wasn't an opening in the sky.

I hope it doesn't rain again...I need to work on the Chevette

What more do you have to do to it,Borg?

I haven't driven it in 2 months. I fired it up saturday and it's leaking gas(again)... at the fuel pump. I can't even see the fuel pump. So, I have to put it up on the car ramps and remove the oil filter to get better access to it.

Good News! It was suffering from dry gasket syndrome. In my case it was dry rubber hose syndrome. I fired it up today and no leaks. I only drove it to the street and ran it for another 20 minutes and no leaks. I'll start it up in the next day or two for about 20 minutes then on the following day I'll drive it around the neighborhood.
