homeless in Seattle area is a big problem, I have no problem with the honestly homeless, s#$%t happens, and they will take advantage of services, (I hate that word) and get them selves back on track. but that is only a small % of the homeless, rest are drug addicts and the likes that refuse any services as it involves being sober and work, being responsible. These folks need to hit a jail/forced rehab, the money spent on tent cities, cleanup, bulsh*&t programs that do not work would have no problem supporting a facility to put these folks into forced detention. Seattle has budgeted and received over 250 million in the past 4 years and achieved nothing.

thankfully its not anywhere near that here, but the people I do see standing on the street "hungry or need work", they look fully able to go and work at Mcds, or any gas station. Then youve got the few, that are able to work, but make enough begging on the street corner that they don't, that is their job. Thats part of the reason, I dont give anyone money. I've given food before, and it was appreciated by said person, but never money

There are many of those here. There is one guy near my house that does artwork for money which is quite admirable.

You people really think you have a problem with that? It's a harsh reality here

I visited some friends in san fran a few yrs back and remember his wife telling me that the homelss get an "allowance" so they can appear presentable and not scare off tourists. Wonder if this is still being done

School is having an America out day for spirit week. I don't know what they expected.IMG_0403.jpg

Yea, we have alot of fakers here. One guy called on the local radio saying he lives in an apartment and dresses 'down', goes to a street corner and makes about $100 a day. I've seen one guy drive a car and parks it about a block away then goes to the corner.

There was another guy with a patch over his eye and used a cane with a limp. Later I saw him with the patch pulled up and the cane over his shoulder and he was walking just fine.

Fakers or not there is a big problem here

Hello; I have no doubt there are welfare scammers and the "fake" beggars. These folks do a double disservice to the real poor and needy. I have been taken by such scammers and there are too many reports of fraud in the government welfare programs. I have known a few too many on a check who did not deserve the benefits.
Because of these fakers and scammers I seldom give to folks and do resent some of the social programs my tax dollars in part support.
The truly poor or needy likely do not always get the help they need because of the fakers having "taken" me and others.
I have some ideas about how to deal with fraud in government social programs, but my more liberal friends keep telling me it can not be done.
