Oh I am sure. Security is very tight in all areas here, there is always a risk of break ins and not everyone is capable of defending themselves unfortunately. Bars inside the windows, security gates by doors. Walls are often spiked or topped with electric fence etc
Hello; Sounds comfy. Kidding aside that does seem more extreme than my area. I do not have much structural security but do have the capacity to deal with intruders if they get in. I live in a place where we can have what we need to protect ourselves and can also use force to protect property. Some places in the USA do not allow folks to take steps and even tell homeowners to climb out a window if necessary to avoid a confrontation and to let the intruders take their stuff.

That's fortunate, the latter sounds terrible. It's difficult here since there are gangs that operate and having bars, an alarm and common sense definitely helps as a deterrent.
The crime is definitely getting worse unfortunately.

I live in a town of 80k with a lot of police, on the edge of a much larger city of 500k with not enough police. The most crime-ridden neighborhoods are over 10 miles across town for me.

But this is a big place in terms of land and is housing less than a million people on a county bigger than Connecticut.

When you jam millions of people into one city it is inevitable that you will have the opportunities for much crime. Even if the people are no different, the increased opportunities increase the crime rate sincerely.

There used to be a lot of talk of a village movement where people would abandon the big cities. Not many people did that but they will be the ones that survive when big tsunami start hitting the coasts.

People don't like to talk about the fact that if a small meteor landed off of the Atlantic seaboard, places like New York City and LA could pretty much disappear overnight.

The human race has done absolutely nothing to protect itself from such catastrophes except to distribute its population around the whole world such is that a localized event would not be a global one, at least directly.

Yes hacking is an issue. I tried to tell my wife's friends but they didn't listen. People jacked into their cameras and even the high tech baby monitors. Occassionally someone would talk trash to the baby at night!
Wtf talking to the baby !!! Ugh

Tbh crime is really low in my area...almost non existent. The cameras are for peace of mind

No old videos games but I had nearly all the original Star Wars figures. Apparently they are worth a bit now too. Sold them when I was 22 and moved out of home to a collectible shop, can't remember what I got for them but probably got value of 1 figure today for the entire collection.

Yep same here. I had all the Star Wars stuff from when I was a kid, pretty much everything they made with the exception of a few of the really big expensive pieces. I sold all mine back when I was in my early 20's as well. I remember getting around $1-$2 each for the lose figures. From what I have seen there are some that are worth a fortune but they have to be on the factory card. There's one Jawa that if on the card sealed is worth around $8000.

How do you install that on a hut? Do they have straw breach sensors over there?

You guys kid, but the US is a good place to live. If you see bars/wire you know your in a 'bad neighborhood',not that the people are rich enough to afford basic safety, because for the most part, the US has a population that looks down violence and crime and a not very corrupt police force.
