So, skip sex and don't have kids is the message now is it, along with all the other messages we get from scientists on what we should and shouldn't be doing to live longer.

Great! Factor out all the good stuff in life and grow to a ripe old age of 120 where all you've got to look forward to is soiling yourself on a daily basis!

At least when your memory goes too you won't have to go through the indignity of forgetting your grandchildrens names.....because you won't have any!!

Hello; I figure this story is clickbait but it struck a chord. Shortly after marrying one of my wives, I showed here where i kept some cash in the house for an emergency. On day one she had an "emergency". I wound up not keeping such funds around the house. There were other similar incidents. I became less favored by her family when I refused to fund ongoing monthly crisis's.
I had fair warning when we were dating. Ther was the episode when the mother took the family to an amusement park for fun and effectively spent the mortgage money to do so.

Hello; I am childless. So have avoided that indignity.

The interesting thing about your story is that she is now your ex wife, good for you. And I suspect that, if true, that other story will also eventually result in divorce.

A marriage is never going to work out if both your views on financial aspects of the relationship are polar opposites.

...Shortly after marrying one of my wives...
Am I the only one who chuckled out loud a bit upon reading this line? :)

I'm sure you did...as did virtually every ex-married-man. I keep hearing and reading about how the wives changed drastically from loving, understanding and caring partners...into shrill harpies whose thought processes are completely opposed to those of their husbands. I've never known a person, male or female, who underwent such a radical transformation...just lucky, I guess...?

When I was much younger, I felt that my first impressions of people I met were always pretty accurate, and I trusted those impressions. Now, much later in life...I'm more convinced that's true than ever.

I kinda sorta think that a saying I just typed out a few minutes ago in a completely different thread might be appropriate here as well. Have you considered the possibility that when you married your wife...er, wives...you were possibly thinking with your little head rather than your big one? 🤔

When I was a younger man my "little head" always persuaded my "big head" to do the "right" thing!

Unfortunately for me I shouldn't have listened as it got me in a few scrapes!
