Oil spill

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Someone-some company somewhere has a pump ready to go or has a pump being made.I assure you of that. BP has no room for pride anymore. We would all look up higher at BP for just admitting they are screwed and sending out an SOS to everybody.Even if their arch enemy in the oil world can stop the mess and gets the credit such as Exxon/Mobil etc then so be it. Buy the pump or whatever they need or just "abandon" ship and give up their spot to Exxon or anyone else who fixes it and they can surely start drilling again in August when they get the drill they are having built to fix this problem because let's face it-I really dont think we have until August to wait for the drill being made.

The sad part is, this could have been averted day one of trying to stop the leak, by using something called an oxyseal from a company that is right here in the US. I tried to find more info on it, but all I get is a bunch of junk returns on google.

In any event, if anyone tries to tell you that they are doing everything they can to fix this, they are lying out their "you know what".

Worst part about this:
People lost their lives, and many many more people are loosing their sole source of income because a billion(s) dollar industry is currently ruined and will be for a long time.

Everyone in here who likes to feed shrimp to their aquatic life is in for a rude awakening once the impact of the gulf being ruined comes to full affect. Good thing I dont do this, and even better that I hate eating seafood and fish.

The parishes are going to get hit in Lousiana to some degree, even with the dredging project. The wetlands in florida are likely to see some amount of impact as well, and the currents are just going to carry this trash straight to the eastern seaboard.

No one was prepared for this, government or private sector wise.

If you ask me, and this is pure speculation, no one in the government is stepping up and assisting because there are people in power who would like to see offshore drilling (along with oil companies) flounder and develop a bad name.

im gonna end up with cancer anyways maybe i should go work cleaning up

We have a very good American Oil Line Repair (they do other things too) Company... its called Oceaneering. If BP says "help!" and pays, then I'm quite confident in Oceaneering's Expertise. They have very good ROV's (or UUV's if you prefer that name). I'm betting they are already there waiting for the green light.

:screwy: sounds great-go for it!

the job i had in the military actually gave me a 75% chance of getting cancer down the road

sad thing is the Russians told them on day 2 to nuke it and they all acted like it was crazy...a very small yield tactical nuke (briefcase bomb) would have sealed it in seconds..hell i bet even a daisy cutter could have sealed it...of course then BP couldn't use the well anymore but im sure that didn't weigh in the decision...my problem is that there trying to save the well MORE than the Gulf...greedy bastards

oil floats, so it probably reduces DO content in the water, covers surface dwellers, and is generally bad.

the government would have to step in to do that. BP cant just buy a nuke. and they said that they wouldnt step in

the gov't are idiots...this is a bigger threat than Iraq and bp is more concerned with profits then the ecological nightmare that is going to haunt the gulf coast states for decades...they should have taken over weeks ago and just billed bp...
